Chief Security Officer (CSO)

This position is becoming increasingly critical in regards to ensuring that the company adheres to all of the mandatory security policies, systems and standards. The CSO will manage the firm’s security policies and systems. They will coordinate with outside consultants in order to sustain the systems and keep them current. This person should have a bachelor’s degree as well as 10 or more years of experience in IT with an emphasis on IT security. IT salaries for CSOs in the United States rose 1.9% from 2006 to 2007. The salary range for a CSO is $97,000 to $141,000.
