Database Administrator

Database Administrator; This individual typically reports to the Database Manager. Employers typically look for at least an associate’s degree. Professional certifications from Microsoft, Oracle, and other certifications are required. This individual needs to have a strong background in database structure, configuration and installation as well as experience with database languages and applications such as SQL, Oracle and DB2. The Database Administrator positions had an increase of 3.1% from 2006 to 2007 and the salary range for this position is: $70,000 – 102,000.

Some responsibilities for the Database Administrator include:

Maintaining the firm’s databases by monitoring and managing on a daily basis
Modifying the database structure and data for optimum performance
