This person usually answers to the site support manager. They will need to have at least 3 to 5 years of experience installing/supporting PC and laptop hardware and software applications. This job will also require extensive experience with various operating systems and network connectivity. They will need a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and the employer may require professional certifications such as: The Help Desk Institute’s Customer Support Specialist (CSS) or Help Desk Analyst (HDA), A+ certificate, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) designations.
