This individual typically reports to a mid-level manager or a Director, depending on the size of the company. Employers will look for the candidate to have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or management information systems and about three to five years of work related experience. The candidate should have excellent programming and coding expertise in languages such as: C++, Java and Unix. The analysts should have very strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to convey this knowledge to the technical personnel and business managers on the project’s team. The Developer/Programmer Analyst positions had an increase of 2.5% from 2006 to 2007 and the salary range for this position is: $55,000 - $90,000.
