Director

This individual typically reports to a VP of Information Technology depending on the size of the company. Employers will look for the candidate to have a master’s degree in computer science, information systems, an MBA or have another relevant graduate degree. The candidate will also have to have at least 10 to 15 years of consequential business experience with positions in project management leadership roles. The Director positions are considered senior-level positions that require the candidate to have very good interpersonal and communications skills and have good decision making authority. This person will need to have the ability to multi-task and to be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Developer/Programmer Analyst positions had an increase of 1.4% from 2006 to 2007 and the salary range for this position is: $88,000 - $129,000.

Some responsibilities for the Director include:

  • Directing the project management staff including the hiring decisions to create and evolve the department
  • Maintaining relationships between clients’ and the company’s management team
  • Making recommendations and presentations based upon analysis for new business initiatives
