Network Architect

This individual typically reports to the VP of Information Technology or the IT Manager. Very large companies will have several of these people spread out across the US or world. Each will have authority and responsibility for analyzing and designing the network in his or her area of responsibility. This individual should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science and have at least seven years of experience with network operating systems such as: Windows Servers, Novell and Cisco and have the respective certifications that the various companies offer. The candidates will have to have an extensive background in all aspects of networking technology and have experience with other underlying network hardware. The Network Architect positions had an increase of 3.1% from 2006 to 2007 and the salary range for this position is: $78,000 - $112,000.
